Sugar Prices Hit 4 Month Highs

Bookmark and Share

Sugar Futures---Sugar futures in the March contract is hitting a 4 month high this Wednesday afternoon in New York up another 15 points at 13.01 a pound continuing its bullish momentum. Crude oil prices are up over $2 today as sugar is riding the coattails of that commodity as sugar is also used as a biodiesel and if you take a look at the daily chart the uptrend line remains intact as higher prices look to be ahead with the next major level of resistance at the 13.20 level which could be tested in this week's trade.

I have been recommending 3 bullish positions with an average price around 12.79 and if you took those trades continue to place the stop loss under the 10 day low standing at 12.57 as the chart structure will not improve for another 3 trading sessions therefore you will have to accept the monetary risk at this time.

Sugar prices are trading above their 20 and 100 day moving average as the trend is getting stronger to the upside, however the volatility remains exceptionally low as today is only a 1.09% gain as that's all you have expected over the last several months, but I think that situation is going to change as smaller sugar production in the country of India is sparking prices so stay long.
