I Am Bearish The 10 Year Note

Bookmark and Share

10 Year Notes---The 10 year note in the December contract settled last Friday in Chicago at 124/19 while currently trading at 125/05 up slightly for the trading week as I'm not involved in this market , but I am keeping a close eye on a possible short position as prices right near a 2 week high.

The 10 year note hit a high on September 8th at 127/28 and has been in a downtrend ever since due to the fact that the U.S stock market continues to hit all-time highs on a weekly basis as money flows are finally coming out of bonds and into equities as that trend could continue for months to come.

The 10 year note is trading slightly above its 20 day moving average but below its 100 day telling you that the trend is mixed as I am advising clients to avoid this market at the present time, but there will be a selling opportunity down the road in my opinion as a 10 year note is still yielding about 2.35% which is way too low for these economic conditions.

The U.S employment report was released on Friday stating that our unemployment rate is 4.1% coupled with the fact that our GDP hit 3% the first time in 9 years & with the tax reforms and massive tax cuts imminent that could send future GDP reports to 4%/5% while sending the 10 year note above 3% in my opinion.TREND: MIXED CHART STRUCTURE: POOR
