Orange Juice Prices Near 5 Week High

Bookmark and Share

Orange Juice Futures----Orange juice futures in the November contract are trading higher for the 2nd consecutive session up another 190 points currently trading at 137.60 near a 5 week high & if prices crack the critical 138.60 level which was hit on July 28th I will be recommending a bullish position while placing the stop loss under the 10 day low of 131.00 risking around 800 points or $1,200 per contract plus slippage & commission.

The chart structure in orange juice is very solid at the present time as we are starting to enter the hurricane season which can push prices dramatically higher as prices bottomed out on July 20th at 126.30 while now trading above their 20 day moving average for the 1st time in months, but still below their 100 day which stands at 141.50 so keep a close eye on this market for a possible breakout to the upside.

Prices have been in a consolidation around the 130/140 level over the last couple of months and the longer the consolidation the stronger the breakout in my opinion as my consolidation rule states that prices must go sideways for at least 8 weeks as that has met the criteria as I think traders will start to put a price premium into this market due to hurricane season. TREND: MIXED –CHART STRUCTURE: SOLID
