FROM DJ NEWSWIRES 08/22/08 ARTICLE BY HOLLY HENSCHEN
- ICE cocoa futures are headed lower in the long term as anticipated U.S. dollar strength and intrinsic market fundamentals weigh on prices, an analyst says. "Ultimately the strength in the dollar, adequate available supplies in the market and no massive increases in demand will create a larger longer-term selloff in the market to the March-April lows around $2,250-$2,300," says Michael Maniatis, market strategist at LaSalle Futures Group in Chicago. In the near term, Dec cocoa has support at the $2,574 level, Maniatis says.

Dollar trading will cue on preliminary gross domestic product data scheduled for release this week and interest rate decisions from European banks next week, said Michael Maniatis, market strategist at LaSalle Futures Group in Chicago.

FOR TOMORROW 09/03/08 WEDNESDAY COCOA BUY DEC 2300 PUTS, SELL FUTURES WITH A STOP LOSS YOU CAN FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH. MORE BELOW

In my opinion the market is ready to again test the 2574 area. Traders love buying 2574 to see if fundamentals will hold and shorts will take profits. If I was looking to be bullish I would get long there and have my stop just below this level. In my opinion buyers love entering at a key support level. Its an insult to buy above there. If sellers pile on and break through this support level 2574 and then through stops we'll see another monster move to the downside just as in today's trading. Important to note we closed below 2700, old support possible new resistance R1 2700 R2 2750. If you are short you may want to move stops down to protect profits/limit losses. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE FOR SUCCESSFUL TRADING AND YOU CAN LOSE MONEY. ARTICLES ABOVE COURTESY OF DOWJONESNEWSWIRES AND CHART BELOW FROM BARCHART.COM
